My mom is very nerbiyosa; she was known to squeal while watching my nieces and nephews waddle around as toddlers, scared to death that they might make a wrong step and fall flat on their little cute faces. I remember her secretary telling me that I should rush into her office after being left in the car at the impounding area. Apparently, she almost had a heart attack when she found out I wouldn’t come out of the car unless someone else picked me up. Now that her once annoying nervous squeals have faded, I sometimes find myself looking for them.
